Our good friends, Mic-Mic and Nino, left yesterday for Hong Kong for three months for work. So on Monday, as is the Filipino custom, we had a despedita for them (i.e. going away party type thing). But, since we are all divers, we had a despedita dive instead. There were about 15 divers and we drove to Mactan and got on a small dive boat which took us to Liloan for our first dive sight. Dive number one was a wreck dive. We decended down a line from the boat to a huge commercial ship that had sunk and was just sitting there, 156 feet under the surface! It was so cool. The deepest I had ever dove prior to this dive was around 80 feet. Given that we were so deep, the air is much more compressed due to the water pressure, so you use air much more quickly than if you were diving in more shallow water. Unfortunately, we weren't able to swim inside the wreck this time, but next time for sure! Our second dive of the day was a shark dive where you essentially go looking for sharks! Most people try to avoid sharks... not us, we are trying to find them! We dove down about 130-140 feet and just swam back and forth along the sea wall looking for a shark. Unfortunately, no sharks this time. Maybe next time. For our third and final dive of the day we went back to a dive sight near Mactan and did an underwater photo shoot. We took an old computer monitor, keyboard, mouse, and phone and recreated an underwater office for pictures! Good times!"I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy" Psalm 140:12
