Today I went to Historic Filipinotown (which is only a few miles from where I work) for some authentic Filipino food. I figured that since I hadn't ever actually had Filipino food before nor did I have any idea what it tasted like, I should probably check it out before the move. After my friend, Ben, scoured countless Yelp reviews, we decided on Nanay Gloria for what became known as Filipino Food Friday. I was fortunate enough to share this experience with over a dozen of my friends from work who either liked Filipino food, wanted to try Filipino food, or were just being supportive! All in all, the food was quite tasty! I had pork adobo over rice and some sort of beef dish that I didn't quite catch the name of. I also tried fried lumpia and turons (which were more like a dessert). It was great because everyone ordered different things so I had the opportunity to try a little bit of everything. I think I will just need to get over how things look... because even though something may look strange or unappetizing, it tasted delicious.Group Photo Number One
