Okay, I have a confession to make... I love Buddhist monks! And since there are approximately 5 Buddhist temples for every person here (or so it seems... seriously, they are everywhere), there are usually plenty of monks walking around. They aren't hard to spot with their bright orange robes and shaved heads. Whenever I spot one, I feel like the paparazzi trying to take a picture of them without them knowing. I found out today that you can ask to take a picture with a monk, but you can't touch them or else they will have to go through some sort of cleansing ritual. Good to know.

I met a couple young Buddhist monks at Angkor Wat in Cambodia and asked one why he decided to choose the life that he did... and he said he saw a monk in the orange garb when he was a kid and thought it was cool.
